Learn about the important contributions made to Boston and our nation by the African American community at The Museum of African American History. This institution offers insight to the struggles, the triumphs and the stories of African Americans from the Colonial Period and throughout the 19th century. Exhibits feature important African American figures like Colin Powell, Barack Obama, and Nelson Mandela, and also showcase art works and artifacts.

Mystery, comedy and action all come together during a performance of Shear Madness. This “whodunit” mystery incorporates suspense and improvisational humor, and this combination has earned the show plenty of praise; the Boston Globe has named it “Best Comedy of the Year” seven times. Shear Madness holds the Guiness World Record for being the longest running play in the U.S.

If you'd rather have your nose stuck in a book than do anything else, then the Boston Book Festival is an event just for you – but you'll have to put down what you're reading to get there. The festival features live book readings, lectures and open discussions with professional authors, and of course, books! Food and fun are also a part of the event so count yourself in on the Boston Book Festival.

There are plenty of ways to enjoy recreation at the Noanet Woodlands. The park features over 17 miles of recreation trials that meander through the 600-acre area. As you enjoy activities like hiking, skiing, horseback riding, and biking, you'll see a variety of birds like hawks and warblers, animals like bullfrogs and turtles, and a large amount of wildflowers, including marigolds and pink lady's slipper.
