Head to Spectacle Island for some fun and recreation in the sun. From hiking and biking to swimming and boating, there's a variety of things you can do here that will get your blood pumping. Before or after your workout, stop by the visitor center to explore exhibits about the island's history and development. You can also get a great look at the city from the hilltop.

The festival features live book readings, lectures and open discussions with professional authors, and of course, books! Spend some time hanging out in the country's oldest park. The 50-acre Boston Common is the anchor for the Emerald Necklace park system and is the starting place of the famous Freedom Trail. There are quite a few monuments throughout the park, and several outdoor events take place in the Common throughout the year.
Explore an important piece of our naval history at the USS Constitution Museum. Interactive galleries, exhibits and attractions tell the story of the undefeated, centuries old USS Constitution. Some exhibits include All Hands on Deck: A Sailor's Life in 1812, and Old Ironsides in War and Peace.
