Get ready to roll down the Minute Man Bikeway. This scenic bike ride travels through the area where the American Revolution began in 1775. Aside from biking, the recreation path welcomes walking, skating, and jogging. If you travel the whole bikeway, you'll pass through four communities: Bedford, Lexington, Arlington, and Cambridge.

Spend some time hanging out in the country's oldest park. The 50-acre Boston Common is the anchor for the Emerald Necklace park system and is the starting place of the famous Freedom Trail. There are quite a few monuments throughout the park, and several outdoor events take place in the Common throughout the year.

Learn about the important contributions made to Boston and our nation by the African American community at The Museum of African American History. This institution offers insight to the struggles, the triumphs and the stories of African Americans from the Colonial Period and throughout the 19th century. Exhibits feature important African American figures like Colin Powell, Barack Obama, and Nelson Mandela, and also showcase art works and artifacts.
