One of the oldest scientific institutions in the nation, the Maryland Science Center has undergone quite a few changes since its inception in 1797. The most recent renovation in 2004 expanded the facility and added new exhibitions on all levels. In addition to the exhibits, the Science Center also houses a planetarium, observatory, and an IMAX theater.

Let your wild side roam free at the Maryland Zoo. Located in Druid Hill Park, this zoo first opened its doors to the wild things in 1876. One of the oldest zoos in the country, the Maryland Zoo is the home of more than 2,000 animal attractions, including the African black footed penguins, gorillas, polar bears, elephants, African big cats, and much, much more!

Learn about the haunted past of a rowdy seaport at the Baltimore Ghost Tours. This spooky tour takes you back in time as you explore the many haunted pubs, shops and residences. Be prepared to have the pants scared off of you while learning more about local history, culture, and ghost stories.

The Mount Vernon neighborhood in Baltimore, distinctly separate from the plantation in Virginia, is one of the city´s oldest neighborhoods and serves as the city´s cultural district. This National Landmark Historic District is named after the home of George Washington, and contains the original Washington Monument.
