Unlike the bird from Poe´s famous poem, the Baltimore Ravens never say "nevermore," especially when facing the New York Giants in the Super Bowl. This professional football franchise originated as a quasi-expansion in 1995 when the owner of the Cleveland Browns decided to relocate to Baltimore. You can find several monuments and attractions commemorating George Washington throughout the states of Maryland and Virginia. The Washington Monument State Park contains the first monument built for the first President. Built in 1827, this historic stone monument still stands proud near the summit of South Mountain´s Monument Knob.

The Mount Vernon neighborhood in Baltimore, distinctly separate from the plantation in Virginia, is one of the city´s oldest neighborhoods and serves as the city´s cultural district. This National Landmark Historic District is named after the home of George Washington, and contains the original Washington Monument.
