The City of Lakes Loppet Winter Festival is a two-day event offering various activities. You can enjoy point-to-point Cross-Country skiing, Fat Bike, Skijor, and Snowshoe events, including competitive races and recreational touring events through Theodore Wirth Park. There are also unique events such as the Kubb Tournament and Luminary Loppet, the Loppet's largest fundraiser. In addition to these events, there are various other activities to enjoy, such as shopping tents, ice skating, snow sculpting contests, ice bike racing, and skijoring, a combination of dog sledding and skiing. During the festival, you can also indulge in good beer, food, hot cocoa, and warm bonfires. Remember to bundle up as it will be cold outside.

Have you heard about the Zipline Adventure course at Sand Creek Adventures? It's an unforgettable experience featuring three zip lines totaling over 1,600 feet. The highest point is an incredible 100 feet above Minnesota's Sand Creek. You can choose from a zip line tour with three or six lines. Regardless of which one you choose, you're guaranteed to have an exhilarating experience. If you're up for an additional challenge, Sand Creek Adventures offers high-adventure challenges that will test your limits. For example, the Leap of Faith Challenge involves grabbing a trapeze, while the Giant Ladder requires teamwork and determination to climb. However, if you prefer a more relaxed experience, the Giant Swing can have you swinging through the trees quickly.

If you are interested in natural history, check out the Bell Museum. They have various animal specimens, such as mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, amphibians, insects, and plants. Additionally, the museum has many traveling exhibits, dioramas, and touch-and-see exhibits that you can explore. Furthermore, you can visit the Whitney and Elizabeth MacMillan Planetarium on the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus. It is the state's natural history museum and a planetarium. There, you can take exciting journeys from the cosmos to the human brain and learn about the universe's origins, diverse life on Earth, and Minnesota's wildlife dioramas. You can also experience the Touch & See Lab, which has a wide range of items such as 10,000-year-old fossils, living plants and animals, and more. Also, you can explore the native plant landscape, geology gardens, and solar station outside the museum.
