The Charlotte Hornets are a professional basketball team based in Charlotte, North Carolina that plays in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association. The sports team was established in 2004 and they play their home games at the Spectrum Center Arena in Charlotte.

Charlotte's Festival in the Park takes place every September in Freedom Park and offers locals and visitors a chance to celebrate the spirit of the city in a variety of ways.
