Every May, the Reno River Festival signals the beginning of summer, as it has come to be recognized as the first big event of the warmer months. Events that have become synonymous with the Reno River Festival include a whitewater kayaking competition, a 2.5-mile two person relay called Run Amuck, and the very popular Biggest Little Homebrew Challenge where festival goers are encouraged to enter their home-brewed beer in a hotly competitive showcase.
More of nature's wondrous creatures are on display at the Sierra Safari Zoo. Open from April to the first day of November, this surprisingly vivid collection of some of the world's most amazing animals offers you a chance to reach out and touch, feed and play with these exotic creatures. There are more than two hundred animals to see including wallabys, big cats, monkeys, deer and zebras.
The Cube bar is home to the type of nightlife that you would see in a movie.
