Through the technology of wide-screen film presentations, you can experience what it feels like to be caught in a hurricane on the bayou, go on a cosmic safari through the solar system and even brave the mysteries of the Nile. There's always a full schedule of exhibits and special presentations, and the kids will love the multidimensional, interactive activities. And don't forget, the planetarium is open until 9 so you can get up close to the planets and the stars through the high-powered telescopes that are housed in this showcase of natural, interplanetary wonder. Looking to find the most happening scene for live music and entertainment? Then Reno's Freight House District is just the ticket. The district comprises several hot spots including Duffy's Ale House, the 250 Lounge, Bugsy's Sports Bar and Grill and the Arroyo Mexican Grill. More of nature's wondrous creatures are on display at the Sierra Safari Zoo. Open from April to the first day of November, this surprisingly vivid collection of some of the world's most amazing animals offers you a chance to reach out and touch, feed and play with these exotic creatures. There are more than two hundred animals to see including wallabys, big cats, monkeys, deer and zebras.

The Bartley Ranch Regional Park Loop offers a unique hiking trail as it echoes Nevada's ranching heritage. Along the trail you'll find a replica of a one-room school house, as well as vintage farm equipment and exhibits that explain the function of these artifacts. It's a great suburban trail that comes alive thanks to these interesting pieces of the past that you'll see along the way.
