Tour the history of the city and explore the exhibits and attractions at the Museum of the City of New York. The museum was founded in 1923 to showcase the history of New York City, and is home to art in various medias like paintings, drawings, prints and photographs featuring the city and its residents. Other pieces of the collection include costumes, decorative objects and furniture, toys, rare books and manuscripts, marine and military artifacts, police and fire artifacts and items documenting the golden age of Broadway theater.

The museum is an architectural icon and an esteemed host of Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, early Modern and contemporary art. The institution presents special exhibitions of modern and contemporary art, lectures by artists and critics, performances and film screenings, classes for adults and teens, and tours of the galleries led by expert guides.
Helping to bring the buzz of professional soccer here to the States, the New York Red Bulls have helped establish Major League Soccer. The team plays out of NYC and home games take place at the Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey. The team has won two Eastern Division titles but have yet to win an MLS Cup. Roberto Donadoni, Lothar Matthaus, Adolfo Valencia, Youri Djorkaeff and Amado Guevara have all played for the Red Bulls.
