Founded to celebrate the city's status as a major producer of relevant films, the Tribeca Film Festival has garnered tons of publicity since its debut in 2002. This event showcases a broad spectrum of films, including independent films, documentaries, narratives, family-friendly flicks, and plenty more as over 1,500 screenings take place. The Tribeca Film Festival is unique in the way that it applauds film makers for their works. Gracie Mansion is the home of the New York City mayor. The home was built in 1799 and is one of the oldest wooden structures in Manhattan. The Gracie house is used for important city business and is open for tours on certain days of the week.
