The New York City Center is a concert hall in Manhattan, one block south of Carnegie Hall. The 2,750-seat City Center is home to several dance companies including the Encores! series. The New York Islanders are one of three professional hockey teams representing the New York metropolitan area. The sports team was founded in 1972 and is part of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the NHL. The Islanders won the Stanley Cup four consecutive times between 1980 and 1983.
