Another of New York City's floral oases, Wave Hill is a 28-acre estate in the Bronx committed to celebrating the artistry and legacy of its gardens and landscapes and exploring human connection to the natural world. The estate includes a public garden, greenhouse and cultural center. As you explore the attractions throughout area, you'll see a perennial flower garden, the Marco Polo Stufano Conservatory, pergola and vistas of the Hudson River and the New Jersey Palisades, a wild garden, an aquatic and monocot garden, 10 acres of woodland, and more. The Wave Hill house has been rented by the likes of Theodore Roosevelt and Mark Twain.

The Robert F. Wagner, Jr. Park is a combination of open lawns and gardens sprawled through paths and walkways. You'll find there's plenty to see here, as the park overlooks the Hudson River and offers stunning views of the iconic Statue of Liberty and other famous New York City attractions. While you revel in the city's beauty, take a stroll through the Hot and Cool Gardens among Graham Stuart roses, Autumn Prince daylilies, Trumpeter roses and Poinsettia daylilies. Don't go hungry while you're here either; enjoy a meal at Gigino's restaurant and check out the roof deck to see the city from a new perspective.

While exploring Staten Island, stop at the Alice Austen House for a unique museum experience. The Dutch Colonial style home, often referred to as Clear Comfort, was built between 1690 and 1750, and belonged to photographer Alice Austen until 1945. The home now houses a museum featuring work from Austen and other photographers. The Austen House also offers etiquette classes, art camps and small concerts.
