Spend a day exploring the recreation trails at Van Cortlandt Park. The park is home to five trails that stretch out over a mile, meaning you have plenty to explore on an excursion here. The archives were established in an effort to collect, preserve and make available primary information chronicling the social and political history of New York City. The archives serve researchers, journalists, students, exhibit planners and others. Some documents the LaGuardia and Wagner Archives has in its possession include papers of several mayors, the records of the New York City Council, the New York City Housing Authority, the piano maker Steinway & Sons and a Queens History Collection.

The Ethel Barrymore Theatre was built for one of the greatest actresses of her generation, Ethel Barrymore. The theater was completed in 1928, hosting its first production on December 20th, The Kingdom of God starring Barrymore. The entertainment venue has hosted some of Hollywood's biggest stars in its productions of plays like The Women, A Streetcar Named Desire, A Raisin in the Sun and many more. Fred Astaire, Laurence Olivier, Gene Kelly, Marlon Brando, Deborah Kerr, Paul Newman, Sidney Poitier, Olympia Dukakis, Alec Baldwin and Carol Burnett have all performed here.
