Spend a day exploring the recreation trails at Van Cortlandt Park. The park is home to five trails that stretch out over a mile, meaning you have plenty to explore on an excursion here. The Lower East Side Tenement National Historic Site is a five-story brick apartment building that was home to an estimated 7,000 people, from over 20 countries, between 1863 and 1935. Now a National Historic Landmark, the museum offers tours of restored apartments that paint a picture of the life of an immigrant. The Tenement Museum promotes tolerance and historical perspective on the immigrant experience.

The Lunt-Fontanne Theatre is located on West 46th Street in Manhattan's Theatre District. The 1,505-seat Broadway theater was named for famous American acting couple, Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne. Photographs of the couple are showcased in the theater lobby. The theater has hosted productions of The Sound of Music, Beatlemania, Peter Pan, Titanic, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid and The Addams Family, just to name a few.
