Feast your eyes on a little piece of history at the Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden. This attraction is a collection of architecturally significant buildings from the 19th century and was once a home for sailors. The 83-acre Snug Harbor is comprised of 26 buildings, built in the styles of Greek Revival, Beaux Arts, Italianate and Victorian. This National Historic Landmark District is considered to be the "crown jewel" of Staten Island.
Enjoy a beer at the Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden. Opened in 1910, the Bohemian Hall is now the last original beer garden in all of NYC. The garden offers beers from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Belgium, Germany, Great Britain and the United State of America. While you're fueling up on delicious brews, try something from the menu; the hall serves Czech and Slovakian cuisine and some American favorites.
Get your tickets to a show at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, an intimate music and entertainment venue that accommodates around 550 people. The three story performance hall is similar to its Bowery Ballroom counterpart, boasting great sight lines and acoustics. Matisyahu, Sarah Bareilles, Ryan Bingham, The Donnas, Modest Mouse, MGMT, Citizen Cope, OK Go, Warren G and John Mayer have all graced the stage at TMHW.
If photography is your passion, the International Center of Photography is a must-see destination for you. The center is a photography museum, school and research center located in Manhattan. Since opening in 1974, ICP has presented over 500 exhibitions featuring the work of more that 3,000 photographers. The permanent collection is home to about 100,000 photographs that explore the history of photography. Types of photos include daguerrotypes to gelatin silver and digital chromogenic prints.
