The Town Hall is an entertainment venue in Manhattan, and since opening in 1921, the hall has become a premier avenue for educational programs, activist gatherings and performance space for music, dance and other performing arts media. Throughout the years, the Town Hall has seen the faces of many famous musical, political, artistic and intellectual personalities. The Nicholas Roerich Museum is dedicated to the works of Russian-born artist, Nicholas Roerich. His work focused on nature scenes from the Himalayas and there are rumored to be thousands of Roerich paintings around the world. His paintings explore the "mythic origins, the natural beauty, and the spiritual strivings of humanity and of the world." The museum is home to between 100 and 200 of Roerich's paintings as well as a collection of archival materials. People from all around the world visit New York to see the work of Roerich.

Watch the New York Knicks hit the court at the world-famous Madison Square Garden. This renown NBA franchise has made it to the playoffs approximately 39 times. Despite their numerous playoff appearances, the sports team has only won the NBA finals twice, both times defeating the Los Angeles Lakers. When you're checking out the sights of Brooklyn, be sure to spend some time at Prospect Park. The beautiful park occupies 585 acres and boasts a sprawling 90-acre meadow, aptly named Long Meadow, man-made waterways and lakes, the Prospect Park Zoo, a boathouse for Brooklyn's only lake, facilities for a variety of sports and the Prospect Park Bandshell concert venue. Musicians like Modest Mouse, Emmylou Harris and Bob Dylan have played at the venue, so keep an eye on the park's calendar because you never know when your favorite singer may take the stage.
