View the permanent collection at The Whitney Museum of American Art, or "the Whitney." The Park Avenue Armory was built in 1880 and served as the headquarters for the 7th New York Militia Regiment, or the Silk Stocking Regiment. Over a century later, the Armory is now an arts institution that features work that compliments the building and its period rooms; rooms include a reception room, veterans room, staff offices, and a library designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany. Arts featured at the Armory span the realms of live performances, installations and paintings.

Founded to celebrate the city's status as a major producer of relevant films, the Tribeca Film Festival has garnered tons of publicity since its debut in 2002. The Tribeca Film Festival is unique in the way that it applauds film makers for their works. Following in suit with the New York Film Festival, this event is also attended by some of the brightest stars of Hollywood.
