Spend some time as a family, hanging out in Manhattan's Bryant Park. There's lots to do here, like strolling through the various gardens, observing the number of sculptures located in the park, letting the kids take a ride on Le Carrousel, ice skating on Citi Pond during the winter, playing chess, checkers and backgammon near the Fountain Terrace, or dining at one of the many on-site eateries. A day of family fun at Bryant Park is one of the best ways to unwind together in NYC.
Architects will appreciate the exhibits at the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum. The museum is housed in the former Andrew Carnegie Mansion and features exhibits and artifacts that showcase design history, along with contemporary design. The collection is showcased in four departments: Product Design and Decorative Arts; Drawings, Prints and Graphic Design; Textiles, and Wallcoverings.
The family fun never ends when you're hanging out at Coney Island. The famous Brooklyn destination is home to a variety of attractions that everyone in the family can enjoy. A few places to experience while you and the family visit Coney Island include 12th Street Amusements, Kiddie Park, The Cyclone roller coaster, the New York Aquarium, Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs, and the Boardwalk.
In a city with as much history as New York City, there are bound to be some dark stories, ghastly wonders, and creepy mysteries to discover. Take a stroll with Ghosts, Murders and Mayhem Walking Tours and learn about haunted areas of town, notorious murders, and a few urban legends, too. This tour may not be a good idea for children or those who scare easily.
