The Queens Botanical Garden refers to itself as "a living museum, a collection of gardens for the study, culture, exhibition, and display of plants." While exploring Staten Island, stop at the Alice Austen House for a unique museum experience. The Dutch Colonial style home, often referred to as Clear Comfort, was built between 1690 and 1750, and belonged to photographer Alice Austen until 1945. The home now houses a museum featuring work from Austen and other photographers. The Austen House also offers etiquette classes, art camps and small concerts.

Circle in the Square was founded in 1951 and is one of the oldest producing theaters in New York. The entertainment venue is known for producing the theatrical works of Bellow, Capote, Moliere, Shakespeare, Steinbeck, Thomas, Wilder and Williams. Some notable actors who have graced the stage at Circle in the Square are: Peter Falk, Dustin Hoffman, James Earl Jones, Nathan Lane, Al Pacino, Vanessa Redgrave, George C. Scott, Martin Sheen, Gary Sinise and Rip Torn.

The New York Liberty is a franchise of the WNBA based out of New York City. Since making its debut in 1997, the Liberty has missed the playoffs only four times in 14 seasons. The team has won 3 conference championships and has competed in the WNBA Finals four times. Despite being one of the most successful teams in WNBA history, the New York Liberty has yet to clench the WNBA Championship. Hall of Famers include Teresa Weatherspoon and Rebecca Lobo.
