The Lower East Side Tenement National Historic Site is a five-story brick apartment building that was home to an estimated 7,000 people, from over 20 countries, between 1863 and 1935. The Tenement Museum promotes tolerance and historical perspective on the immigrant experience.

When you're checking out the sights of Brooklyn, be sure to spend some time at Prospect Park. The beautiful park occupies 585 acres and boasts a sprawling 90-acre meadow, aptly named Long Meadow, man-made waterways and lakes, the Prospect Park Zoo, a boathouse for Brooklyn's only lake, facilities for a variety of sports and the Prospect Park Bandshell concert venue. Enjoy the artworks that comprise The Frick Collection. The collection is housed in the former Henry Clay Frick House, a house that had a reputation for being one of the most opulent houses on Fifth Avenue at a time when the now-famed avenue was abundant with mansions and private clubs.
