The Museum for African Art was founded in 1984 to raise awareness, understanding and appreciation of African art and culture. The museum has organized nearly 60 critically acclaimed exhibitions that have traveled to almost 140 venues worldwide, including 15 foreign countries. The most well-known exhibitions have been the "Art/Artifact: African Art in Anthropology Collections" in 1988, "Exhibition-ism: Museums and African Art" in 1994, and "Africa Explores: 20th-Century African Art" in 1991.

Grand Central Terminal was built by the New York Central Railroad in the prime time of American long-distance passenger trains. Since the decline in popularity of train travel, the terminal has become a booming attraction, home to five superior restaurants and cocktail lounges, including the world famous Oyster Bar and 20 casual eateries. The Grand Central Market is also housed in the terminal. Another of New York City's floral oases, Wave Hill is a 28-acre estate in the Bronx committed to celebrating the artistry and legacy of its gardens and landscapes and exploring human connection to the natural world. The estate includes a public garden, greenhouse and cultural center. As you explore the attractions throughout area, you'll see a perennial flower garden, the Marco Polo Stufano Conservatory, pergola and vistas of the Hudson River and the New Jersey Palisades, a wild garden, an aquatic and monocot garden, 10 acres of woodland, and more. The Wave Hill house has been rented by the likes of Theodore Roosevelt and Mark Twain.
