Spanish culture has deep roots in the United States, and the Hispanic Society of America shines a light on how deep those roots go. This museum is home to a rare books and manuscripts research library holding 15,000 books printed before 1700. An intrinsic feature of the museum is the Sorolla Room, which displays a vast series of Sorolla paintings created from 1911 to 1919; these paintings illustrate scenes from each of the provinces of Spain. Other art showcased at the museum include works by Diego Velázquez, Francisco de Goya, El Greco, and Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida, among others.

Grand Central Terminal was built by the New York Central Railroad in the prime time of American long-distance passenger trains. Since the decline in popularity of train travel, the terminal has become a booming attraction, home to five superior restaurants and cocktail lounges, including the world famous Oyster Bar and 20 casual eateries. The Grand Central Market is also housed in the terminal. Besides having specialty food stores, restaurants, accessory boutiques and more; the market is home to some big names in the shopping industry. The society's collection is comprised of over 800,000 objects from a variety of cultures and time periods. The ANS has a permanent exhibit featured at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York called Drachmas Doubloons and Dollars: The History of Money. The American Numismatic Society is the foremost institution of its kind in the nation.
