Spend a day exploring the recreation trails at Van Cortlandt Park. The park is home to five trails that stretch out over a mile, meaning you have plenty to explore on an excursion here. There are also other amenities at the park, including tennis and basketball courts, playgrounds, running tracks, barbecue areas and lots more.

The Beacon Theatre is located on upper Broadway in Manhattan and is considered to be the "older sister" to the world famous Radio City Music Hall. Fans of art and sculpture will enjoy a stroll through the Socrates Sculpture Park, founded by an American sculptor named Mark di Suvero in 1986. What was once an abandoned landfill is now an outdoor exhibition space for sculpture and large-scale work. The park hosts events and programs like kids workshops, adult workshops, kite making and flying, fitness programs, outdoor cinema, and much more. In addition to encouraging and showcasing the creative expression of the featured artists, the park provides an environment conducive to artists, artwork and social interaction.

Learn about Asian culture with some help from the Asia Society. The society was founded by John D. Rockefeller III to help strengthen relationships among the citizens, leaders and institutions of the United States and Asia, and is focused on educating the world about Asia. The museum showcases traditional and contemporary works from over 30 Asian-Pacific countries. Hindu and Buddhist statuary temple carvings, Chinese ceramics and Japanese paintings are all featured at the museum. Exhibitions change several times a year presenting art, performance, film, lectures and programs to visitors, students and teachers.
