Money talks at the American Numismatic Society, where you can learn everything you need to know about coins, currency, medals, and tokens from all cultures, past and present. The society's collection is comprised of over 800,000 objects from a variety of cultures and time periods. The ANS has a permanent exhibit featured at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York called Drachmas Doubloons and Dollars: The History of Money. The Cloisters is a branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art located in Fort Tryon Park and presents art works and architecture from Medieval Europe. The collection at The Cloisters is comprised of about five thousand European medieval works of art, mostly created between the 12th and 15th centuries. Other artifacts and attractions include tapestries, the Cloisters Cross, medieval manuscripts and illuminated books. The landscaping surrounding The Cloisters includes gardens planted according to horticultural information from medieval manuscripts and artifacts.
