Discover a treasure trove of NYC information at the New York Historical Society. This education and research institution presents exhibitions and public programs on the city's history and influence on the modern world. The museum houses four centuries of artifacts and artwork that tell the story of America from New York's perspective. Some of the objects on display include all 435 of John James Audubon's watercolors preparatory for Birds of America and the largest known collection of Tiffany lamps.
St. Patrick's Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral located on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, and one of the most beautiful pieces of architecture in the city. The building serves the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York and occupies an entire city block. The famous cathedral is one of many New York City National Historic Landmarks and is a sight of NYC you must see.
Fans of classical music will enjoy seeing a performance at Bargemusic. This classical music venue was founded in 1977 and makes its home in Brooklyn. Bargemusic is unique because it's a converted coffee barge, docked on the East River at Fulton Ferry. The barge is 102-feet-long and can seat 130 people comfortably for performances. The venue hosts about 220 concerts annually in front of the scenic view of the East River and the lower Manhattan skyline.
