The Tweed Courthouse, formerly known as the Old New York County Courthouse, is the second oldest government building in Manhattan. Founded to celebrate the city's status as a major producer of relevant films, the Tribeca Film Festival has garnered tons of publicity since its debut in 2002. This event showcases a broad spectrum of films, including independent films, documentaries, narratives, family-friendly flicks, and plenty more as over 1,500 screenings take place. The Tribeca Film Festival is unique in the way that it applauds film makers for their works. Following in suit with the New York Film Festival, this event is also attended by some of the brightest stars of Hollywood.

The New York City Center is a concert hall in Manhattan, one block south of Carnegie Hall. The 2,750-seat City Center is home to several dance companies including the Encores! series. The series features revivals of popular Broadway productions such as Chicago, Wonderful Town, The Apple Tree, Gypsy and Finian's Rainbow. Other performance companies at the center include Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Paul Taylor Dance Company, Eifman Ballet of Saint Petersburg, the Martha Graham Dance Company and The New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players.

Those with an interest in military and maritime history will enjoy the exhibits at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. The museum has a collection of ships and other war craft including the World War II aircraft carrier USS Intrepid, the submarine USS Growler, a Concorde SST and a Lockheed A-12 supersonic reconnaissance plane. Exhibits showcase aircraft from: the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Army, U.S. Coast Guard, NASA and Britain, Italy, France, Israel, China and Poland.
