Stroll through the gardens of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden to see over 10,000 species of plant life thriving in the city. The BBG sprawls over 52 acres near the Prospect Heights, Crown Heights and Park Slope neighborhoods. The garden is occupied by the Steinhardt Conservatory where the C.V. Starr Bonsai Museum is located. The conservatory features three climate-themed plant pavilions, a white cast-iron and glass aquatic plant house and an art gallery. The Robert F. Wagner, Jr. Park is a combination of open lawns and gardens sprawled through paths and walkways. You'll find there's plenty to see here, as the park overlooks the Hudson River and offers stunning views of the iconic Statue of Liberty and other famous New York City attractions. While you revel in the city's beauty, take a stroll through the Hot and Cool Gardens among Graham Stuart roses, Autumn Prince daylilies, Trumpeter roses and Poinsettia daylilies. Familiarize yourself with arts from another culture at the El Museo del Barrio New York, an art museum that specializes in Latin American and Caribbean art, highlighting artworks from Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rican community of New York City. The museum has amassed a collection of approximately 6,500 pieces of pre-Columbian and traditional artifacts, as well as 20th century arts and crafts, graphics, and popular media. Through its extensive collection of Dominican art, social and political themed art, folk art and others, the museum educates its diverse body of visitors in the richness of Latin and Caribbean cultures.
