S.O.B's is one of the city's most popular music and nightlife venues, and has been active on the party scene since 1982. The Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts is a 16.3-acre arts and entertainment complex that boasts a reputation for being the world's leading performing arts center. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, or "The Met" is located on the east side of Central Park along Museum Mile in NYC. The permanent collection includes pieces from classical antiquity and Ancient Egypt, paintings and sculptures from many of the European masters and a vast collection of American and modern art.
