Stroll through the gardens of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden to see over 10,000 species of plant life thriving in the city. The BBG sprawls over 52 acres near the Prospect Heights, Crown Heights and Park Slope neighborhoods. The garden is occupied by the Steinhardt Conservatory where the C.V. Starr Bonsai Museum is located. The conservatory features three climate-themed plant pavilions, a white cast-iron and glass aquatic plant house and an art gallery. The Morris-Jumel Mansion served as George Washington's headquarters in 1776 during the American Revolution, as the home's hilltop location offered strategic views of the Harlem River, the Bronx, Long Island, the Hudson River, and the New Jersey Palisades. Now, the mansion hosts a variety of exhibits that describe a variety of historic elements that range from war to fashion, politics, art and more.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, or "The Met" is located on the east side of Central Park along Museum Mile in NYC. The museum is home to more than two million works of art, divided among 19 curatorial departments. The permanent collection includes pieces from classical antiquity and Ancient Egypt, paintings and sculptures from many of the European masters and a vast collection of American and modern art. Other holdings at the museum are encyclopedic collections of musical instruments, costumes and accessories and antique weapons and armor from around the world.
