Welcome in the spring with the quaint and charming Appalachian Festival, a three-day music and crafts festivals on Coney Island. Begun almost a decade ago in the basement of the Cincinnati Music Hall, this annual festival has grown into the Cincinnati Junior League’s biggest event, drawing in more than 130 crafters, dozens of entertainers and nearly 50,000 people!
Another major player in Cincy’s cultural scene is the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, or CSO. The fifth oldest orchestra in the US, the CSO is well known throughout the world for its recordings and tours. For over 200 years, the CSO has brought evolutionary music to Ohio and continues to do so with its year-round performances. Hear them play in the historic Music Hall!
Rest and relax at the Weller Haus Bed and Breakfast, one of the finest quaint B&Bs in Cincinnati. Stay in one of the five unique rooms at this tranquil, amorous oasis. Roam through the gorgeous gardens and take advantage of the Ohio River’s proximity by going on a romantic boat ride. Perfect for a date night, couple’s retreat, or an intimate celebration.
Down by the Lunken Airport Playfield is the Lunken Playfield Loop, a 5-mile paved recreation trail that can be found behind the airport. Get some fresh air in the city and enjoy the wide-open views, and the spectacular sight of airplanes taking off and landing nearby, as you hike, jog, bike or skate in this large loop.
