Ohio and Erie Canalway
Nature lovers will feel right at home outdoors in the expansive Ohio and Erie Canalway. This National Heritage Area earned its designated title in 1996 because of its role in helping Ohio and our nation grow. Its status and recognition was to primarily preserve and celebrate the rails, trails, landscapes, towns and sites that all grew along the first 110 miles of the canal that sparked growth for not only Ohio, but for the entire nation. Among these beautifully landscaped 110 miles you'll find the Towpath Trail, America's Byway, the Cuyahoga Scenic Railroad and various county park districts.

The Rocky River Nature Center offers several excellent recreation trails designed more for walking and getting closer to the natural beauty of Cleveland's Rocky River Reservation. The beautiful area stretches out north of Cedar Point in North Olmsted.
Rocky and Chagrin Rivers
Fishing enthusiasts as well as boaters take to the water in search of a great catch of steelhead trout on both the Rocky and Chagrin Rivers. These rivers are always popular, but when their levels rise at various points in the season, the boating and fishing is nothing short of spectacular. The rivers are also popular not only with boaters but with swimmers, jet skiers and other water recreation lovers, too.
A popular destination for aquatic recreation is Wallace Lake in Berea. Not only is the lake plentifully stocked with rainbow trout to please the many anglers who visit, but you can also enjoy a swim or a canoe ride on the water too. If you prefer to stay dry, then enjoy the lake from the shore as you picnic or just bask in the sunshine.
