Explore the habitat of some of Portland's native wildlife at the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge is home to a variety of creatures, including about 200 species of birds, 50 species of mammals, and 25 species of reptiles and amphibians. Be sure to check out the exhibits at the Wildlife Center to learn a little more about the wildlife you'll see as you venture through the outdoor preserve.

Take the time to stop by and see one of the city's most significant pieces of public art, Portlandia. Located at the Michael Graves' Portland Building entrance, the statue is a reincarnation of the city seal, designed as a woman holding a trident and welcoming visitors to the building. The statue is the second largest copper repousse in the nation, surpassed only by the Statue of Liberty.

Watch the Portland Winterhawks battle out on the ice as they attempt to defeat their competition. The sports team is a franchise of the Western Hockey League. Although the team is comprised of junior players, the games are fierce and entertaining, and with alumni players like Hall of Famers Mark Messier and Cam Neely, you might just see the next big name in hockey get their start here.

Check out what's going on at Pioneer Courthouse Square. Considered to be Portland's living room, the Pioneer Courthouse Square is located in downtown Portland and hosts over 300 events a year. Community events, festivals and entertainment are just a few of the things that are on the Square's schedule. This is a must-see destination for Portland visitors.
