Grab your skis and get ready to conquer a mountain with a little help from the Timberline Lodge. The lodge is located on the south side of Mount Hood and provides the nation's longest skiing season. Along with skiing, Timberline's recreation area hosts snowboarding, hiking, and climbing. Fun fact: aerial shots of the lodge were used as part of the opening scenes of Stanley Kubrick's film adaptation of Stephen King's The Shining.

If you've seen the Portland skyline, then you've seen the St. Johns Bridge, and sure, you may have even driven over it. But forget the wheels; get your walking shoes and cross the bridge by foot, as many locals have suggested. A good workout and a beautiful view from an historic bridge will prove to be a highlight of your time spent in Portland.

Take the family out for some fun at Electric Castle's Wunderland. The kids can run wild and conquer over 100 arcade games like ski ball, racing games, hydro boat racing, and other favorites. After you've burned all that energy on games, check out a movie together at the Avalon Theatre.

See a performance at the Portland Center for the Performing Arts, an entertainment venue that's considered to be one of the best in the nation. The PCPA is comprised of three buildings, and the stages of these buildings host a variety of productions, from concerts to dance performances, Broadway shows and symphony events and much more. The venue keeps a busy schedule so there's sure to be something going on that suits your interest.
