Although known for its Italian heritage, the Bella Vista neighborhood which hosts the market is one of the most ethnically diverse Philly neighborhoods. Chow down on some pub grub and order any drink you desire at the Frankford Hall Beer Garden. This beer garden and German pub serves up a full bar, specializing in German beer served in traditional mugs, alongside fine cuisine like bratwurst and sauerkraut. Enjoy your drinks and meal at the indoor courtyard filled with tables and games.

Set aside some time to visit the oldest surviving botanical garden in the United States. Bartram’s Garden covers 46 acres in Fairmount Park, and is open to the public for free admission. Try taking a tour inside the historic garden area (the original 8-acre garden begun in 1728), the historic stone house, through the elaborate grove and the largest variety of North American plants in the world.

Visit Fort Mifflin and see one of the most unique historical sites in the US. Commissioned in 1771, this fort and its surrounding area played vital roles during the American Revolution and the Civil War. When Fort Mifflin was decommissioned in 1952, its 14 authentically restored buildings were opened to the public so they could see "The Fort that Saved America."
