The carefully preserved and restored Georgian-style house was supposedly the home to Betsy Ross, sewer of the first American flag, and her first husband, John Ross, during the American Revolution. See history come to life as actors share stories and reenact scenes from this significant event.

Spend time exploring Wissahickon Valley Park’s more than 50 miles of trails that crisscross throughout the Delaware Valley. The Wissahickon Valley Trail is one of the most popular recreation trails for hiking and running, although you will see bikers and horseback riders as you cover the seven mile greenway.

Children who are fond of all that crawls, wiggles and flies will have a blast at The Insectarium. Filled with thousands of mounted bugs as well as live specimen, this all-bug museum is the largest of its kind in the country. Visit the 9th Street Italian Market for some of the freshest produce and most unique shops in the region. Although known for its Italian heritage, the Bella Vista neighborhood which hosts the market is one of the most ethnically diverse Philly neighborhoods. You can find everything from farmers' markets to restaurants, bakeries and cafés selling specialty foods from all over the world.
