Commissioned in 1771, this fort and its surrounding area played vital roles during the American Revolution and the Civil War. When Fort Mifflin was decommissioned in 1952, its 14 authentically restored buildings were opened to the public so they could see "The Fort that Saved America."

About and hour and half away from Philly is Bushkill Park, a smaller, family-friendly amusement park perfect for children. Historic Bushkill Park is famous for its antique rides, such as bumper cars, and has one of the oldest funhouses in the world. The park is currently undergoing some renovation but a revival is expected, especially after the park was featured on American Pickers.

Philly’s 700 Club is booming with an eclectic mix from the DJs, with the party spilling out through the two-story building. With an assortment of over 80 bottled beers, 12 beers on tap and a whole assortment of liquor, the bartenders can probably serve up more than just 700 different drinks at this nightlife destination.
