Travel across the globe when you enter Shofuso, also known as the Japanese House and Garden, located in Fairmount’s West Park. Leftover from the 1876 Centennial Exposition, this 17th century-style Japanese house and garden represents friendship between the US and Japan. Catch them in their home at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts if they are not on tour across the globe!

The widespread Independence National Historical Park consists of several sites associated with the founding of the nation and the American Revolution. This large park contains several iconic monuments on its grounds, like the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Visitors to this park can expect as much history as natural beauty when they stroll through its green grounds and enjoy being outdoors.

As you walk through Independence Mall, be sure to pop into the National Constitution Center to learn more about the birth of America. As the Birthplace of America, it is fitting that the nation’s first and only nonpartisan institution devoted to the Constitution is located in Philadelphia.
