The widespread Independence National Historical Park consists of several sites associated with the founding of the nation and the American Revolution. This large park contains several iconic monuments on its grounds, like the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Visitors to this park can expect as much history as natural beauty when they stroll through its green grounds and enjoy being outdoors.
You can bike, run, picnic or even skateboard along the Schuylkill Banks, or you can take to the serene Schuylkill River itself. The Schuylkill Banks provide excellent access to the river for recreation and watersports. Explore the city from a kayak, relax at this popular fishing spot or even take a motorized or large boat out for a spin.
Probably the worst kept, best-kept secret in Philly is the Rocky Statue outside of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Snap a photo of yourself raising your own fists in victory in front of Rocky—after you challenge yourself to the same iconic East Entrance Stairs he ran up during the movie.
