Discover the city’s past at the Atwater Kent Museum of Philadelphia, also known as the Philadelphia History Museum. More than just a collection of artifacts, the Atwater Kent Museum tells the elaborate story about the growth of the city as well as narratives about the people who lived in it.
You can bike, run, picnic or even skateboard along the Schuylkill Banks, or you can take to the serene Schuylkill River itself. The Schuylkill Banks provide excellent access to the river for recreation and watersports. Explore the city from a kayak, relax at this popular fishing spot or even take a motorized or large boat out for a spin.
Raise a glass to Tippler’s Tour. This adult only tour is held at 5:30PM on Thursdays from April until December during which participants can enjoy a selection of local brews as they learn about the city’s history. This Historic Pub Crawl creates a setting of 1777 and teaches guests about the tribulations of being a British soldier in Philadelphia, the taverns of the day and a few other fun tidbits. Cheers!
