Music lovers don’t skip a beat at the Riverbend Festival! The 9-day musical festival plays out in the heart of downtown Chattanooga at the 21st Century Waterfront along the Tennessee River. The award winning celebration attracts approximately 650,000 attendees and features fun activities and performances by over 100 bands playing everything from classic rock to bluegrass.
Plow through the life of a pioneer at the Ketner’s Mill County Arts Fair. Held each October, visitors can learn how early pioneers had to use hand churned mills to make fresh cornmeal and travel from location to location in covered wagons. Step back in time to shop and enjoy fun activities and entertainment.
Conservation and education naturally come together at the Chattanooga Arboretum & Nature Center. Outdoor enthusiasts learn about a fascinating array of indigenous plants, birds, mammals and reptiles. Plus you can explore a Forest Treehouse, and travel in the footsteps of Tennessee’s early Native Americans, pioneer settlers and Civil War soldiers.
Visit the Bessie Smith Cultural Center to see African American cultural arts and entertainment. The landmark destination showcases exciting art exhibits, concerts and work shops. It's also home to the prestigious African American Museum and Heritage Festival.
