El Paso Museum of Archaeology El Paso Museum of Archaeology

Step into 14,000 years of prehistory in the El Paso area, the greater Southwest, and northern Mexico at The El Paso Museum of Archaeology. Here, you can see dioramas and exhibits of American Indian lives and their material culture. The exhibits range from the Paleoindian hunters of the Ice Age to their modern descendants. The Museum constantly updates its exhibits to reflect the scope of its collections and the community's interests. The exhibits in the auditorium and the North Gallery house exploreable drawers of artifacts from across the U.S. You can also walk nature trails on its 15-acre land, which has more than 250 varieties of Chihuahuan Desert native plants, outdoor exhibits, and an Indian Garden.

WinterFest WinterFest

WinterFest is an annual downtown event in the City of El Paso. It begins the weekend before Thanksgiving and ends on the first Monday of January. The event began in 2015 and is considered the most incredible festival in the Southwest. It commences with the ceremonial lighting of the holiday tree and San Jacinto Plaza. The opening ceremony includes the Scherr Legate WinterFest Lights Parade and a festive concert. San Jacinto Plaza is adorned with over 500,000 mini-lights, oversized decorations, and a 55-ft holiday tree throughout the season. Winter-themed attractions and family-friendly programs are offered in and around downtown. Visitors can enjoy the outdoor ice-skating rink, holiday trees, and displays and stroll along the bedecked Paseo de las Luces to see festive holiday decor. WinterFest is a beloved tradition in the community, and various partners work with the City of El Paso to make it bigger and better for El Pasoans and visitors to enjoy.

El Paso County Coliseum El Paso County Coliseum

The El Paso County Coliseum is a historic venue in the city that has entertained people with concerts and events for over 80 years. The Coliseum has seen some of the biggest names in the music industry perform on its stage, including Elvis Presley, Jackson 5, Johnny Cash, Selena, Juan Gabriel, Fleetwood Mac, Ariana Grande, and Green Day. In addition to music concerts, the Coliseum has hosted various entertainment events such as boxing matches, Disney on Ice shows, Tuff Hedeman Championship Bull Riding competitions, car shows, and more. The venue can accommodate up to 6,500 people and has an 850-space parking lot, an Events Center, a Judging Arena, and an open-air Pavilion.
