The Weslaco Museum was established to preserve, exhibit, and raise awareness about the history, cultural arts, and traditions of Weslaco, Texas, and the surrounding regions. This collection was the foundation for a published book celebrating the City's 50th anniversary. One of the exciting things about the Museum's collections is the photographs from Weslaco's annual "Birthday Party" fashion show. The Chamber of Commerce organized this event to showcase the fruits and vegetables grown in the Rio Grande Valley. Residents created and modeled clothing from local fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

The mission of the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show is to provide a safe and educational environment that promotes family, community, and volunteerism. They strive to encourage the youth of South Texas through leadership development, agricultural education, and competition to create the leaders of tomorrow.
