The Weslaco Museum was established to preserve, exhibit, and raise awareness about the history, cultural arts, and traditions of Weslaco, Texas, and the surrounding regions. It was the result of a collaborative effort by the community that began in the 1960s. At that time, the city leaders had called for the collection of stories and artifacts from prominent businesses and families in the area. This collection was the foundation for a published book celebrating the City's 50th anniversary. One of the exciting things about the Museum's collections is the photographs from Weslaco's annual "Birthday Party" fashion show. The Chamber of Commerce organized this event to showcase the fruits and vegetables grown in the Rio Grande Valley. Residents created and modeled clothing from local fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

The Pharr Community Theater Company has been enriching the cultural life of the Rio Grande Valley for over a decade. As a non-profit organization, they have always focused on producing high-quality plays that captivate audiences and leave them wanting more. With 3-4 main-stage productions each year, they have become a leading live theatre production company in Hildago County. But it's not just about the performances. The Company also offers scriptwriting and acting classes for all ages, taught by experienced coaches and students from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley drama department. These classes give aspiring writers and actors the skills and confidence they need to pursue their dreams.
