Birmingham Zoo

This incredible zoo features over 1,000 animals and birds all presented in their meticulously recreated habitats and attractions. In addition to giraffes, lions, monkeys and hippos, the facility features a variety of special exhibitions as well as special presentations designed especially for the kids.
Lou's Pub & Package Store
Every city has a Cheers-style bar, and in Birmingham, it's Lou's Pub & Package Store. This local favorite finds people from all walks of life gathering around the bar and enjoying a few beverages while talking about their day. Patio seating is available, and in addition to featuring an impressively stocked bar, Lou's is also famous for its fine homemade cigars. Birmingham Barons
The Birmingham Barons are an AA Minor League baseball team affiliated with the Chicago White Sox. They play their home games at Regions Park in Hoover. The sports team gained widespread but brief attention in 1994 when Michael Jordan became part of their team after he retired from the NBA.
