Head to a state-wide party and have some fun at the Arkansas State Fair. The festival has it all - food, drinks, music, carnival rides, a livestock show, professional bull riding, a beauty pageant, dozens of contests, shopping, shows and more. Plan to spend a couple of days visiting the fair, because you just can't experience it all in one day.
Take the kids back to the days of the skating rink at the Arkansas Skatium. Head out on Friday or Sunday night to hear music hits from when you were young, both nights the DJ spins oldies, disco, 80s and everything in between. Don't worry about buying skates, you can rent a pair there - all you need to bring are your skating skills.
Take the kids to see their favorite stories come to life on the Children's Theatre stage at the Arkansas Art Center. The entertainment company was recognized by The Drama League as "one of the best regional theater companies in America," and has wowed audiences with performances like The Jungle Book, A Year With Frog and Toad, Alice in Wonderland, The Giant and the Beanstalk, and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.
Cheer for the UALR Trojans varsity teams as they compete in some of your favorite sports. Fans of basketball, tennis, baseball, volleyball, and soccer are in luck - these teams offer some fierce competition for their opposing teams, making the games and matches an interesting show. Go Trojans!
