Tour a little piece of American history at the Little Rock High School National Historic Site. The high school was the site of forced school desegregation during the Civil Rights movement in 1957. The visitor's center hosts exhibits about the desegregation of schools and information about the Civil Rights Movement in Arkansas and throughout America.
The Old Mill at T.R. Pugh Memorial Park is an authentic reproduction of an old water-powered grist mill, this striking structure appears in the opening scene of the classic 1939 film Gone with the Wind and is believed to be the only building remaining from the film.
Head to a state-wide party and have some fun at the Arkansas State Fair. The festival has it all - food, drinks, music, carnival rides, a livestock show, professional bull riding, a beauty pageant, dozens of contests, shopping, shows and more. Plan to spend a couple of days visiting the fair, because you just can't experience it all in one day.
