The Arkansas Governor's Mansion was originally completed in 1950. It is a Georgian Colonial Mansion with walkways that link to two cottages with one and half acres of maintained herb and vegetable gardens.
Head to a state-wide party and have some fun at the Arkansas State Fair. The festival has it all - food, drinks, music, carnival rides, a livestock show, professional bull riding, a beauty pageant, dozens of contests, shopping, shows and more. Plan to spend a couple of days visiting the fair, because you just can't experience it all in one day.
Cast a line with the Central Arkansas Fishing Guide Services. Try your fisherman's luck in the morning, afternoon, or on an all-day recreational fishing trip with experienced guide Bill Dennis. He'll take you to all the best fishing holes on whichever lake you choose: Lake Ouachita, Lake DeGray, Arkansas River, Greers Ferry Lake, Lake Maumelle, White River, or Lake Dardanelle.
Have dinner and drinks at the West End Smokehouse & Tavern. Catch the game on one of over 50 televisions, show your pool shark skills on a billiards table, play some shuffle board or darts, or relive your childhood by pumping quarters into an arcade game and setting the new "high score" record. Pizza, barbeque, burgers and everything in between are available on the menu.
