Owned and operated by husband and wife, Ryan and Tricia Peterson, 2 Chefs Catering is a small company that has been providing catering in Topeka, Kansas and surrounding areas since 2009. The 2 Chefs Catering menus are custom-created to fit the specific needs of each client and special event.
Born and raised in Hoyt and Mayetta, Kansas, Ryan and Tricia feel like they know what people in their area expect when it comes to a good catering experience, and want to go above and beyond that. Not only do they cater any size party, they personalize it so that it is special and not routine.
One of their client's comments most certainly attests to their action of custom-creating a menu for the occasion.
"When my dad passed away, we wanted to have his gumbo served after the service. We contacted 2 Chefs Catering and they did an absolute amazing job...and even used my dad's own recipe! The gumbo was absolutely delicious and everyone kept asking if it was my dad's. They really made the celebration of life for my dad extra special."
Ryan and Tricia are focused on locally-sourced, organic ingredients that include hormone-free, oat- or grass-fed beef and thus have partnered with Arkenberg Farms and Good Ground Gardens, both local farms, for fresh produce in their catering and restaurant. With this they hope to offer a unique farm-to-table-catering experience.
Both Ryan and Tricia attended LeCordon Bleu in Scottsdale, Arizona, received their culinary degrees in 2009, and currently run a restaurant in Ozawkie, Lake Ridge Bar and Grill, and 2 Chefs Catering hand-in-hand.
Ryan worked at various restaurants in Topeka, Kansas and Phoenix, Arizona. He was kitchen manager at Blind Tiger for a year, kitchen manager at Top of the Tower for two years and worked for Aboud's Catering for over five years. In Arizona Ryan worked at Michael's Catering and Olives and Ivy. He loves cooking for friends and family and recently took over operations at Lake Ridge Bar and Grill in Ozawkie, working full time in addition to running the catering business.
Tricia Peterson, Baker and Front of the House Manager, finds front of the house to be more appealing. She also enjoys baking cakes and other confections for special occasions. She also runs the website, social media accounts and other various office work for both the restaurant and the catering business. Tricia is a Washburn University graduate and enjoys writing and blogging in her free time, in addition to running her own food critic blog called Tasting Topeka.
