Join in the month-long festivities at the Los Angeles County Fair. This festival became an annual tradition since the first one in 1922. The largest county fair in America, the Los Angeles County Fair links California's agricultural industry and the public. Indulge in traditional fair food, cheer as the horses race around the track, get up close and personal with animals at the petting zoo, check out the circus entertainment and much, much more.
Bar down and sign up for another barnburner to take your seats and watch the Anaheim Ducks, the local professional ice hockey team and members of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). Since their famous and cinematic inception, the Ducks have played all their home games at the Honda Center near Angel Stadium. Long time fans and Disney aficionados will certainly remember that this team was originally named the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim based on the 1992 film, The Mighty Ducks, starring a young Emilio Estevez. The Ducks have made the playoffs 14 times, won six Pacific Division titles and one Stanley Cup. Grab your bucket, fishbowl and lumber and light the lamp with the Ducks!
Step back in time and visit The Mother Colony House located in the Anaheim Colony Historic District and one of the first buildings ever constructed in the area dating back from 1857. It is officially classified as an American Territorial Style Cottage built of redwood, with three small rooms, a single gable roof and a flaring eave which fully covers the front porch. George Hansen, a Los Angeles surveyor who built this house for his own home and office, is known today as the "Father of Anaheim.” The Mother Colony House is the oldest museum in Orange County and was designated as a State Historical Landmark. Since then it has been proudly named "A Symbol of Anaheim's Heritage," a name it has rightfully earned.
